Fall/Winter 2017

And the year of the 40th Birthday continues!

Happy Birthday Cody!

Happy Birthday Trent and Travis Trap!

Poor Eva had a mouth surgery.  Puffy face.

We bridesmaids from Ginger's wedding were all able to be in Minot to surprise her on her 40th!

Heather, Erika and Carrington
Oh how fun to surprise, and use these dumb stick-heads again.
 Erika and Ingrid

And then some of us from out of town hung out at the Quam farm all weekend for a staycation.  So fun!  Steph and Ginger.

 Staycationers dinner out.

Oh Boyscout Winter camp.  I have such a love/hate relationship with you.  I love walking in the woods on a beautifully warm, winter day with Luke.

 Sledding is fun also.

It was so nice out, that Luke played carpet ball for 4 hours while I read and could hear him out the window.

"We need to talk about Kevin."  I even read the book for Ginger's book club that didn't happen because we surprised her instead.

How many snowballs can 11/12 year old boys throw?  A lot.

Christmas break with cousins (Halle and Eleanor) is always fun.  Especially with Legomania happening!
 Travis' 2nd place masterpiece.

He was even on the news this year!

Just wanted to document the layer of ice we were gifted by mother nature for Christmas.

Some activities on days off from school were not so appropriate.  But at least he was safe while having a nerf bullet shot at the orange on his head?

Warm-weather sledding with cousin Ellisyn.
 Brotherly fighting on the sled.
Heh, heh.  Chris and his buddies, the wisemen, teaching the kids of Hope Lutheran.
I'm a sucker for a kid's homemade birthday treat request.
 Luke's 9th birthday!

Luke's note from the teacher about being annoying.

Skiing with Travis and I didn't get hurt.  He may not like team sports, but he loves winter sports.

Luke licking the windows of the van at tailgating, because why not.
Playing Chris' absolute non-favorite game, Apples to Apples, at Thanksgiving at Tree and Gerry's.

Another 40th, for Sonya this time!

And Jen and I celebrated our 40th with a long weekend in Scottsdale AZ at the Hotel Valley Ho.

Sunny and fabulous.

We drank all night and got up and hiked to the top of Camelback mountain: Rockstars.

This photo looks like Adam is carrying a purse and wearing girl-sunglasses.

Just looking like we look everyday......

Really, I mean I have my hair and make-up done ALL the time.  So often that this definitely wouldn't have taken me 2 hours to accomplish.  Certainly not.

The weekend after Arizona, Tree gave me a "staycation" for my 40th birthday and took the kids for the weekend.  (Best present ever, in case any grandmas are wondering.)  On my weekend alone, I decided to run a 10K.  Our birthday-trip diet of mostly-wine may not have been the best fuel for this run.  OH THE HEADACHE!?!?!?!  And maybe I could've looked in the mirror before I left and noticed that I am wearing a non-matching outfit???
We celebrated Janelle's 40th also.  Here's a picture of Jill who took much too long getting her hair straight to have it wrecked by the rain.

SURPRISE!!!!!
This was almost a surprise FAIL for Kari.  Convinced her of a book club also.  But when I went to text her husband that we were on our way, the text went to Kari also!!?!?!?!  Still not completely sure how/why that happened, but luckily she was driving and didn't check her phone.  We walked into the bar and no one knew we were coming because I was actually texting Kari and no one else, and we were early...... so Kari says "Hey!  There's my friend Ruth?  And my friend Angela(or someone)?  Do you mind if I go and say hi?"  And she walked into the party.  She was surprised and so was everyone else who was waiting for my texts that never happened.  And the stick-heads were fun too!

And some fall family memories.

Here's a funny picture Marie made about a time when Travis make her frustrated because he called her "sicko."
Halloween!  The Bison player, the Viking, the tiger.

And Travis and Quentin the Ghostbusters.

The Bison beat the Iowa Hawkeyes.  True story.
Chris and Luke and Andrew and Chuck Evens were there as witnesses.

 For real, they won.

 Still can't believe it.

Notice a tiger theme?  It's her thing.  Happy 7th birthday!
