Luke's 12th birthday, Girl Scout winter camp

After a night in the bunks, Leah, Delia, Marie and Jamie were ready for a day of outdoor adventure at Girl Scout Winter camp.

The weather Gods smiled down on us and gave us the most beautiful winter weather that has even been seen at Camp Wilderness.  Not so hot that everything was melty and  wet and sticky, yet no wind and beautiful views.
Jaime, Leah, Marie and Delia:  Troop 30515
What a view on the sledding hill.
Elise says "it looks like we're on a beautiful beach. Without the warm ocean waters and sand of course."  It was truly beautiful and majestic out there.
I wanted to see how masculine I could truly look.  "Girls, I don't know why you're so tired hiking all this way? I feel fine (on cross country skis.)"
How lucky am I have to have a favorite friend want to join me with her daughter at Girl Scout winter camp!?!?!  I already loved camp.  Even more fun with a fave friend Elise!
I planned winter camp.  I brought all the food.  I handled registration. But I couldn't dig out the fire pit for a bonfire.  That was too much.  So we had griddle smores.

Night sledding.  Maybe more beautiful than the daylight some how?  So fun.

Luke turned 12.  He had his birthday party at Section 9, a gamer place, with Kolten Tesch, Josiah, Brooks and Mason Broers.  And he never took his coat off.  Likely to annoy me.
Red Velvet cupcakes.  'Cept I was out of red food dye and I wasn't ready to rush out and kill anyone with Red Dye 40.  But in my defense, it was his SECOND cake because the first one was already eaten after the party was postponed due to a snow storm.

Just what angry dads have been saying forever: "Quit slamming that door.  You'll break it!"  I always thought "what can you possibly break by slamming doors?"  Well after breaking numerous actual door handles, he finally knocked the wood strip right off the door.  And this wasn't even his door.  It was ours.  He had given up his room to let Robinson Vernier, our guest from France, stay in his.
